The excellent light source in the EVA unit makes it possible to perform any type of vitreoretinal surgery using only a single 27G chandelier light fiber. This can easily be fitted through one of the 27G trocars, avoiding the need to make a separate sclerotomy for the light. The quality and intensity of the illumination is sufficient even for recording high-resolution intraoperative videos.
